Gnome Do: Also a Dock

If you have not yet installed and tried Gnome-Do, a program similar to quicksilver for mac which can run applications and do other various tasks using only the keyboard, I highly recommend doing so. If you already have it, however, I have a suggestion. Go into the settings

sudo apt-get install gnome-do

For my exact setup, use the Dust Theme (Included in Jaunty) and this wallpaper.

Your desktop is absolutely gorgeous. What did you install to get those effects?

I've been using gnome-do as a dock for a while now, and it kicks total ass. I can't imagine how I lived without gnome-do in the past. :P

Mike, I'm relatively new to Ubuntu, but I have quite a bit of experience in Windows and Mac environments. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I'm enjoying reading through your blog posts.

Question: how do I go about installing the Dust theme in Ubuntu 8.04?

Thanks,
Matthew

if you have the latest version of ubuntu "Jaunty" then it should be available by default. Right click on the desktop, and click change desktop wallpaper. Then click the themes tab.

Hope this helps!

Mike

Hi. Check out Shiki color theme http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Shiki-Colors?content=86717 it has a ppa rep, which provide updates of this theme. Also this rep stores GNOME-Colors Icons witch I prefer to default icons =)
