Jaunty Beta

Some readers may have noticed I post much more infrequently than previously. This is because I'm simply having fewer problems. Ubuntu is becoming more and more user friendly, and can now do essentially everything I want (except a few music-related functions I use for my band, Power Pirate, and tools I use for creating HDR photography)

Today I am going to install the new Jaunty Beta, and hope that all is still well. Happy 'bunting.

I was thinking of trying it out myself. It didnt look like there were all too many changes from 8.10 though. Did you manage to get it working and how is it?

It's installed and works fine. Like you said, there are not many updates. But one major improvement is the notification system.. it's very modern looking. Ubuntu also comes with a few more interesting themes to play around with.

thats a real let down. ubuntu has the potential to catch up to windows and actually be competitive but it seems to be slowing down in features.

9.04 released! :) It is a beautiful piece of software.

New themes were the least of my concerns when checking out the new features. Boot time is way down, faster than Windows 7. They will be reducing boot time even more in the 9.10 beta. What about ext4?
