I've been using Gutsy since tribe 4, and its been a constantly improving experience. I recently went through several major updates in Tribe 5, which are supposedly ubuntu tribe 6. Noticed improvements include:
- new wallpapers
- 'leave message' option on lock screen
- speed, reliability

Where did you get that wallpaper, and what are you using for the dock?
one of the default wallpapers in gutsy, and avant window navigator
heres all the proposed wallpapers, mine should be in there, as well as some variations and other nice walls (i'll make a brand new post about this now.. its a nice little place to browse for ubuntu wallpapers)
